- Day Tripping: Hillsboro Lighthouse - A Keeper of the Ocean’s Whims & Guide to Ships’ Skippers - meet at the Sugar Sand Park Carousel, 300 S. Military Trail, Boca Raton. Presented by the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. The park is located on Military Trail, approximately 1/8 mile south of Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton. Historians with the Preservation Society will join the short boat trip to the lighthouse and at the station. Participants will meet at Sugar Sand Park to carpool or caravan. Cost covers boat trip to the Hillsboro Inlet Light Station dock, fee for tour of grounds, and gratuities. Transportation and lunch is at your own expense.
