Urban trees provide a sense of place, beauty, increased property value, shade, habitat for wildlife, and energy savings.  In an urban environment, trees grow differently than in the forest, and must be cared for properly.  Proper tree care is important to maintaining urban trees’ value, safety, function, and longevity in the landscape.

Learn about how urban trees grow, and why their care is so important.  Learn about choosing the right tree for your landscape and how to keep it healthy and beautiful.   Lecture and discussion to be followed by outdoor activity (weather permitting).  This is the first in a series of eight unique tree care workshops scheduled for residents in 2012.
